Devlog 5


Hello gamers! It's been a while since the last update, and also a very busy last few weeks (u_u).

But time waits for no one, so lets jump right into the (possibly) last devlog before release!

First, We've started the implementation of the health system: The health of the player will be displayed as heart icons.

The player has 3 hearts, damage translates to a loss of half a heart. Upon losing all of them, the game transitions to a game over screen:

(reference:for now this is implemented for collisions with enemies but it will be used for other purposes too)

The enemy hitbox was also reworked, so as to cover a better area of the enemy model. This will be the objective as well moving forward:  



We are working towards also adding powerups and consumables. Consumables would add towards score / have a temporary buff. Meanwhile, Power-ups are intended to be stocked in an inventory. 


Many of the effects are being worked on at the moment but we will present a few custom ones:

So then the idea is to have a different type of magic for these powerups. Consumables will just be generic itchio assets :)

For the proper release, two additional levels will be added and for the big finale, a boss fight!
