Devlog 4


Hello gamers! Welcome to this 4th devlog:

First, we've added a tutorial level to introduce the player to the movement options and tools at their disposal. This features a way to visually introduce the player to the main movement schema, jumping, running and gliding, along with a transition level to show off the main mechanic of the game.  This level also implements parallax for its background








 

We've also implemented the interaction caused by the player colliding with an enemy. For now, if the player collides with an enemy horizontally, the player dies on 3 hits and is taken to the deathscreen shown in the 3rd devlog. Currently, we aim to implement an animation for both the player character taking damage and dying, by way of a spritesheet showing a vanishing effect along with a white-ish transparent shader. 


We are also implementing damage and death animations for the enemies.


Concept-wise: A new enemy tipe will be introduced that shows as a light blip on the ground, then lunge downward toward the player. This'll be done when these weeks chill out a bit...

More levels are also underway so stay tuned!
